Engineering Breakdown
Blob Mascot Footer — A bold black and cream footer built from three stacked panels, with thin black gaps that read as divider lines. The first panel has two enormous contact rows, Email and Whatsapp, whose buttons copy the address or number when pressed and pop a small Copied pill. Under it a copyright marquee glides by, and the last panel holds a geometric wordmark in which a pink blob mascot stands in the place of the O. The mascot bobs, blinks and waves with a speech bubble when you hover a contact button or the mascot itself, hops and says copied after you copy, and on desktop the contact buttons lean toward your pointer. Every size comes from the width of the footer, so it adapts in place.
Every interaction state, motion curve, and responsive edge-case has been extracted and reconstructed for seamless integration into modern React applications.
01
Zero — Primitive Dependency & Pure Standalone Pattern: pure React and scoped CSS. The wordmark and the mascot are inline SVG, there are no image files, no icon package and no animation library.
02
Content Height: there is no fixed height anywhere. Padding, type size and the wordmark width all scale with the width of the footer through container units, so the footer is about 1,100px tall at 1440px wide and shorter below that. The size is an estimate from the layout.
03
Stacked Panels: three cream panels with 6px of black between them. The first has rounded bottom corners, the marquee panel is rounded all round and the wordmark panel has rounded top corners, all by the same fluid radius.
04
Mascot Locked to the Wordmark: the mascot box is the width of the O slot scaled to the rendered width of the wordmark, and it is placed a little left of the slot and above the letters, so its tuft and arm rise over the word. A resize observer on the footer and on the wordmark keeps it in step.
05
Waving States: idle, the body bobs and the arm hangs down. While waving, the body hops, the arm swings, the pupils look up, the mouth opens with a pink tongue and a speech bubble pops in from its corner. The eyes blink all the time. Hovering the mascot or either contact button starts the wave.
06
Copy to Clipboard: the buttons use the clipboard API and fall back to a hidden textarea. A Copied pill shows for 1.6 seconds, and copying again restarts the timer. While anything is copied the mascot waves and its bubble says copied.
07
Magnetic Buttons: on desktop the contact buttons lean toward the pointer, up to 40px sideways and 22px vertically, and settle back when the pointer leaves. Tablet and mobile skip this.
08
Three Layouts: desktop from 1024px has a 26 second marquee, tablet from 640px has an 18 second one, and mobile drops the marquee and the bubble for a short copyright row under the wordmark. Tapping the mascot makes it wave for 1.4 seconds.
09
Reduced Motion: the marquee, bob, hop and blink stop, while the bubble stays and the arm stays raised during a wave.
